RED OAK SOFTWARE ANNOUNCES AVAILABILITY OF WEB CLIPPER 2.0
AUTOMATED WEB CLIPPING PORTLET CREATION TOOL FOR ENTERPRISE SOA PORTALS PROVIDES EXPANDED FUNCTIONALITY
MOUNTAIN LAKES, NJ, September 24, 2009
– Red Oak
Software, Inc.,a leader in Application Integration solutions,
announced today that it has released Web Clipper version 2.0 to
general availability. Web Clipper 2.0 is enterprise-class software
that automates the creation and deployment of web clipping portlets.
It is the only standalone web clipping application integration
solution built on Eclipse.
Web Clipper 2.0 is an innovative professional tool that enables
users to capture, build, test and deploy discreet portions of web
applications into enterprise portals easily and efficiently. It is
comprised of two components - a Workbench that automates the creation
of web clipping portlets and a server-based Runtime to support Portal
deployment. Users create web clippings using a visual wizard without
any programming and deploy them as industry-standard JSR 168 portlets
or portlets for any leading SOA Portal including IBM, Oracle, SAP and
JBoss.
New and expanded capabilities included in this release are:
- The Workbench has been migrated to execute within Eclipse
Galileo (3.5).
- The Workbench now fully supports the display of embedded applets.
- The Runtime now supports the display of an embedded applet within a
Web Clipper portlet.
- Support in JBoss Portal for Apache Log4J, enabling logging
for the Runtime inside JBoss.
- The Runtime supports execution within the JBoss 2.7.2 Portal environment.
- Detailed documentation for deployment of generic JSR 168
portlets to all environments.
Features and Benefits
- Sophisticated Visual (No Coding) Development – Web
Clipper 2.0 Workbench includes various visual process editors to
automate the design, testing and deployment of standard portlets.
The Workbench is the most efficient development tool available for
capturing web functionality and automatically converting it into
reusable web clipping portlets.
- Standardized Web Clipping – Sharing composite
web application functionality through SOA Portal applications is
commonplace today. Web Clipper 2.0 is a standard and cost effective
alternative to building web clippings by hand or using the cumbersome
methods provided with the portal.
- Eclipse Plug-in – Web Clipper 2.0 Workbench
ships as a Plug-in, providing seamless access to this full-featured
environment for developing Java solutions. Workbench users design,
build and deploy web clipping portlets from within Eclipse, enabling
Web Clipper to be the fastest and most efficient web integration
solution available.
- IBM, Oracle, Sun and JBoss Compatibility – As
an Eclipse Plug-in, Web Clipper will work seamlessly with all
existing major vendor IDE’s that are based on Eclipse.
- Platform Integration and Team Support – Most
large portal projects require multiple developers working together.
Web Clipper directly supports the team versioning and control
functions provided by Eclipse enabling users to work collaboratively.
- Efficient and Scalable Runtime – Web Clipper’s
2.0 Runtime Server is the most advanced and efficient web clipping
integration engine available. It provides superior performance that
scales easily to meet the demands of even the largest enterprise
portal deployments.
In summary, Web Clipper 2.0 is a sophisticated, state-of-the-art
enterprise integration solution that enables the fastest and
efficient creation of web clipping portlets. By being able to
visually capture and automatically create portlets for any SOA Portal,
customers will save substantial time and expense versus other
alternatives. Please see
Web Clipper 2.0 Release Notes for additional details.
